1. Based on the usability of energy
a. Primary resources:
Primary sources are available in nature.
Example: coal, crude oil, sunlight, wind, uranium, etc.
b. Intermediate resources:
Intermediate sources are derived from primary energy using one or more methods. It is used in vehicles.
c. Secondary resources:
The energy that is finally given according to the needs of the consumer is called secondary or usable energy.
Example: Electrical energy, thermal energy, chemical energy, etc.
Based on traditional use
a. Conventional energy resources:
Conventional energy resources are energy sources that have been in common use for decades.
Example: Fossil fuels, nuclear and hydro resources.
b. Non-conventional energy resources:
Non-conventional energy resources are considered to be the largest amount of energy resources after the use of Oil.
Example: Solar, wind, biomass, etc.
3. Based on long term availability
a. Non – renewable resources:
Resources that have a specific limit and cannot be renewed once used are called non-renewable.
Example: Fossil fuels, uranium, etc.
b. Renewable resources:
Resources that are renewable are called renewable. Also, resources that do not vary depending on the rate at which they are used are called renewable.
Example: Solar, wind, biomass, ocean, geothermal, hydro, etc.
3. Based on commercial applications
a. Commercial energy resource:
Commercial energy resource is the energy required for advertising related activities.
Example: Electricity, petrol, diesel, gas, etc.
b. Non – commercial energy:
Non-commercial energy resources are sources of energy derived from nature and used directly without being used for business.
Example: Wood, animal dung cake, crop residue, etc.
