Components of NC system
In this article, we will learn about Three Components Of NC System: Numeric Control System.
An NC system consists of the following three basic components.
1. Program of instructions
2. Machine Control Unit (MCU)
3. Machine Tool
1. Program of Instruction
A machine used for manufacturing is a set of step-by-step operations and statements that are written to the machine using numbers, letters, and symbols. The picture film is recorded in any of the input media and a program of instruction is prepared. It is used as input media to run the machine.
2. Machine Control Unit (MCU)
When inserting program media containing instructions into the Machine Control Unit, the MCU is a device made up of electronics and hardware that can read the program and convert the instructions into mechanical actions appropriate to the machine tool.
This includes:
1. Tape reader
2. Data buffer
3. Signal output channel to the machine tool
4. Feedback channels from the machine tool
5. Sequence control
6. Control panel
Tape reader
It is an electromechanical device electro-mechanical device. This is paper tape. Read the punched instruction and convert it into machine code instruction and store it in the data buffer.
Data buffer
Converts instructions into information blocks and stores them in a buffer. Each block represents one of the many steps required for processing. For example, move the machine slide to the desired position and follow the instructions for drilling jobs Is a block.
The machining tool to the signal output channel
The mechanical control slide or spindle causes the machining process to be carried out by the control system by providing the electrical signal to the servo control system to move the machine from the control unit to the spindle and slide machine tool control motors.
Feedback channels from the machine tool
It is a function of the machine’s slide from the machine position to the new position tool, comparing the information obtained from the machine tool with its input data.
Sequence Control Unit
It synchronizes operations such as coordinating the activities of other elements in the MCU, reading data from the tape to the tape reader, storing it in a buffer, sending signals to machine tools, and receiving feed signals from there. Its task is to do.
Control Panel
It is a control device for the machine operator to communicate directly with the machine. It has control switches and dial gauge indicator. This allows you to perform tasks such as program entry and tool offset.
3.Machine Tools
It is the one who machines the material i.e. performs the operations required to create the object is the device. This includes the work table, spindle slides, and servo motor and control systems needed to operate it. The linear movements for the slide and spindles are in the Coordinate axes x, y, and 2. Also cutting tools required for operation. Equipped with fixtures and other equipment. Special features of NC machine
1. Able to perform a variety of operations.
2. There is an automatic tool changing device.
3. Automatic Mf work positioning is done.
