Types Of Composites

Composites of Definition

In this article, we will learn about Types Of Composites. Composite are new composite materials developed to increase their mechanical and physical properties by adding more than two materials.

Structure details

Generally, composite material is made of metals, ceramics, glasses, polymers, etc. to enhance the mechanical and physical properties.

Composites

Composite of Types

(i) Fibrous Composite

The composite material in the matrix form of the fibers is the heat of the fibrous composite. Composite The fibers of every plastic composite (rubber, elastomer, ceramic) in general are hard to break, and long fiber material is stiffer and stronger than bulk fiber material. A binder material with plastic is used to harden the fiber. This binder material is named matrix.

Composites

Examples: Beryllium, form, graphite, glass, carbon,

(ii) Laminated Composites

Laminated composite form different types of plastic materials into layers. Layers are made up of two or more layers of laminated composites. These layers are bonded by plastic resins. Lamination is used to combine material layers with the best properties. Lamination improves strength, stiffness, low weight, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, acoustical insulation, and attractiveness.

Composites

Examples: Bimetals, laminated glass, Formica laminate, silicones with asbestos fabrics laminated.

(iii) Particulate Composites

Particulate composite heat up the aggregation of more than one matrix particle. One or more matrix materials are bonded together. Matrix particles can be metallic or non-metallic.

Composites

Example: Glass composites in mica of flakes.

Applications:

Most used in electrical component.
