1. Cutter on the vertical arm as shown in the picture Fit.

2. Fit the blank on the vertical arbor

3. Set the gear train to the correct speed for the cutter spindle and work spindle.

4. Push the cutter in a radial direction equal to the required tooth depth.

5. Start Machine.

6. Cut the cutter parallel to the axis of the blank.

7. Now the cutter and blank are rotated slowly along its axes.

8. The cutter rotates tooth profile on gear blank.

9. Cutter The metal is picked up by coming down.

10. When the cutter is up, the gear moves away from the cutter. This will ensure that the cutter does not collide with the cut surface.

11. The movement between the cutter and the blank continues until all teeth are cut in the gear blank. Gear shapers are thus generating gears.

Applications

  • This method is used to create spur gears indoors and outdoors.
  • Helical gears are made using special equipment.

Advantages

  • Internal gears and external gears can be made.
  • Cluster gear and elliptical gear can only be made in this manner.
  • Gear can be made in the most advanced way.
  • Productivity is high.
  • The mechanism used is very simple.

Limitations

  • Worm gears cannot be made.
  • Only one gear can be made at a time.
  • Gears with wide flanks cannot be made.
